Ray Johnson died Dec. 31, 2000, at the age of 46. Ray had farmed and was currently in the insurance business. At the time of his death he was serving on the Cowley County Commission and as a Republican precinct committeeman.  Survivors included wife, Ellen, children Chris and Carrie, siblings Sarah Langenwalter, Dan Johnson, Bruce Johnson and mother Marilyn Johnson
